I think I need to do some work in advance and then just try to enjoy the remoteness. I felt that the butterfly farm was disappointing.

The day had finally come for me to witness the interesting landscape called The Chocolate Hills, as well as witness the massive eyes of the Tarsier monkeys in person. I’ll be totally honest… I’m having some struggles with the Philippines.

I’ve been to Bohol/Panglao, Cebu and Siquijor so far.

So happy to hear that you found my tips for Bohol useful Are you loving the Philippines?

Yes, it’s also much bigger, but there’s more to it than just the size. That also means you can find some nice local Bohol girls in the different beach towns and villages – different to Boracay, where most Filipinos come from mainland Panay or other parts of the Philippines. But anyway, I don’t want to talk about the local girls in today’s post, I have already covered that in great detail in Everyone knowns the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier, and while these are certainly the most famous attractions in Bohol, there are quite a few other fun things you can do here during the daytime.Alternatively, you can also book guided tours at the travel agents on Alona Beach, but I find it more enjoyable to be free and drive there by myself, stopping along the way if I find a nice place. But even though it’s not the best beach to swim in, there is a beautiful beach promenade with plenty of scenic bars. All Rights Reserved. The Tarsier Conservation Area is located by the main road that runs through the mountains. | Beyond the Blog: Get updates straight to your inbox! I spent about an hour exploring the Hills – I’d say that everything together took me nearly all day.Copyright © 2020 Globetrottergirls. I’m also about to lose it over the terrible internet. There will be a guide to show you around the small place where you can look and be amazed at how small the Philippine tarsier is. OKOKU VLOG 127,463 views 6:28 Don’t visit the Tarsier Sanctuary in Loboc, even though it is conveniently located on the road from Tagbilaran to the Chocolate Hills. Opposite the entrance to the Chocolate Hills Complex, take a bus going back to Tagbilaran and get off at the Tarsier Conservation Area in Loboc, which should take about 30-40 minutes. I woke up at my hostel in Cebu, camera charged, and ready to go. If you continue to use this site we will assume that you are happy with it. And they have another, smaller branch on the beach promenade in Alona – including a restaurant, ice cream booth and shop. They have free tours around the bee farm, too (about once every hour).Speaking about food – there are several great restaurants on Alona Beach.

Happy New Year! How long did this trip to see the tarsiers and chocolate hills take you? But then every few days I do something so incredible, or have an amazing experience where local people are really generous and then I fall in love with it all over again!Oh I hear you on the internet!! FIRST TIME BOHOL,Philippines with Yamyam - Tarsiers, Chocolate Hills|ボホール島はいいところ(フィリピン) - Duration: 6:28. We enjoyed this day tour. You can Click Here to see what other travelers are saying about this tour! I still wish I would’ve gone from El Nido to Coron.Yeah, I heard El Nido is especially bad. You might think that’s quite long, but you should be really careful on these roads, there are lots of inexperienced tourists (and also local Filipinos) who drive too fast, and the road condition isn’t that great either.Anyway, don’t miss the restaurant on Anda Beach, the meals aren’t bad at all, and there’s also a nice beach bar where you might see some Foreign-Filipina couples like in my video below.I know, you cannot leave Bohol without having visited the Chocolate Hills, but I personally think they are a little bit overrated. The tarsier belongs to the 45 million year old family Tarsiidae. It’s set up in such a way that you can walk along a circuit of about 150m, and on several spots on the way there are park employees showing you the tarsiers up on the lush trees. And, like so often, you will not only find nice animals to look at.The Tarsier Conservation Area is open every day from 8am to 5pm.And you will love their complimentary appetizer with self made bread and butter, I’m missing it now that I write about it and see my picture. The enclosures were small and the butterflies were not that special. I didn’t even have 3G on my phone in El Nido, headed up there not knowing the internet would be terrible there.. almost impossible to book onward transportation or anything from there, and my emails would never load.
Despite their name, there are no chocolate plantations here. I’ve seriously tried uploading the same video 15 times now! First stop was the Philippine Tarsier and Wildlife Sanctuary, it’s located on the Loay Interior road going to the Chocolate Hills.
